  1. I'm a high handicapper so not sure how reliable this will be for most people. When I hit both the ProV1 and the X out of the sweet spot on the driver my distance was average to 5 yards longer than my miz RB566. Irons and Wedges were about the same on the Titleist balls vs. my normal gamer. But putter felt smothe and soft the balls were not clicky or hard as a rock. I like them but a lower handicap player could probably give a better review on Irons and Wedges. But as far as driver and putter the ProV1 and ProV1x prototype balls were better than my normal ball. Hatss off to Titleist for choosing me and sending them out.
  2. Along with a lesson and a swing change I managed a career low with the PV1 prototype in play. It played as expected with maybe just little more feel. Thanks,
  3. Thank you Titleist! Very cool to receive a box of the ProV1 and ProV1x prototypes in the mail. Love the new balls! The new ProV1x is going in my bag as soon as I can get my hands on them. I'm getting a higher launch angle throughout the bag and they feel great off the putter.
  4. Thank you for the opportunity! As a higher handicap golfer, 16, I liked the way the ball seemed to travel for me. While I still can’t put any spin on the ball I did seem to hit them farther than my Pro V1X that I currently hit. I would buy them for sure.
  5. I've tried the Red and Black prototype balls and I thought both were really good. I currently play the TP5x. I'm a 12 handicap. I felt both balls felt hot and were long off the driver. Similar to TP5x. The TP5x might be slightly longer on my best drives but ball speed was high on all the balls and not much difference between them. Short game spin was similar between the 3. I would say Red spun the most followed by TP5x and then Black but not big differences. Surprisingly, I liked the feel of the Black the best of the 3. I played my best golf with the Black. I found the Black to be slightly straighter and I haven't lost a ball yet after 2 rounds. The Black was generally closer to target across all shots. I plan to switch to the Black next year based on the consistency of dispersion and the feel.
  6. I enjoyed the opportunity to demo the prototype golf balls. Both were unbelievable but I liked the x better. I play tp5 half the time but these new x’s will be in my bag.

Thank you for including me in the 25 prototype testing. I currently play ProV1 left dot and ProV1.

As noted by others, the cover on the prototypes is a welcome improvement. Longer life without scuffing. The V1 sounds a little softer than the current generation with the putter and some chipping. I notice it more indoors than outdoors. Performance and spin around the greens and mid irons seem very close if not the same between current and prototype. Distance may be slightly improved off the driver. Hard to tell for sure without a launch monitor and a sampling of shots. No negatives from my perspective. Nice improvements to a great ball.

I played the X a little bit and the sound and feel are very much like the current generation. Click off the putter face is noticeable difference from the ProV1. Not a negative to me, just different. Spin and trajectory off the tee seems to be the same or very close to the current generation X. Not ideal for me. Cover is improved as noted for the ProV1.

I am looking forward to a Titleist ball fitting to compare the 25 production version of the ProV1, the let dot if they update for 25, and the current left dot.
  8. I enjoyed testing both Titleist Golf Balls. I would play with either one they are that good!

I had the opportunity to play both the V and the X. Normally a left dash player I found the new X more to my liking. I feel the X had a little better feel and definitely higher ball flight than the previous addition, distance was a bit longer but not enough for a club change. With both the new V and X I felt my dispersion was tighter, more fairways hit. The V had the best feel and loved it around the green. My short game was fire which includes my putting, totally love the feel of the V. Both balls were better than the previous addition. I was able to get better distance from the X, but would probably switch to the V based on its better feel in the short game. Thank you Titleist for giving me this opportunity.

I usually play the Pro V1 and I definitely believe the test ball were an improvement. They were longer and putted better in my option. The most amazing experience was with the Pro V1X which had the largest improvement. The flight and control was awesome.

2025 White Box prototype testing is officially underway!

If you are unfamiliar with the White Box testing program, we had the Titleist Golf Ball R&D team answer the most frequently asked questions here: https://www.titleist.com/learning-lab/titleist-expertise/25-pro-v1-white-box-testing

We have had thousands of responses to the R&D survey, but for those of you who received White Box protos in the mail or at a Team Titleist event, it’s time to share your thoughts with the rest of the community.

What performance characteristics have you been impressed with while testing the 2025 prototype Pro V1 and/or Pro V1x?

*Please note: we want to keep this thread focused on prototype feedback. All replies not speaking to prototype golf ball performance will be moved or removed for the benefit of the Team Titleist community.

I distributed both sleeves with my Sunday foresome playing partners and Titlelist will be pleased with the feedback on the new ProV1.

For my own experience, I didn’t see a measurable difference in driving distance or mid-iron/hybrid spin. However, all of my playing partners commented on how the ball performed when putting. We all noticed a “click” sound off the putter face and how the ball held the line for medium length putts. One of my playing partners will be converting from TM to the new ProV1 when it comes out.

Thanks for the opportunity to test the prototype balls. Happy to participate in future new product research.

The Prov1x just keeps getting better. Great feel off of the club face and great spin near the greens. This is the only ball I will play! I didn't think you could improve when it is windy outside. The ball stays straighter and flies through the wind. I am very happy with this new ball!
  13. I was very impressed with this golf ball. I currently play a TM TP5, simply due to the softness of the golf ball. I have found that the new Titleist golf ball feels just as soft as the TP5. I found lower spin with Driver and Long Irons paired perfectly with maximum spin with short irons and wedges. I was also very impressed with the durability of the golf ball. I have played three rounds with the same ball and have minimum wear on the cover.

Thank you for the opportunity to test the new ball. I look forward to playing them in the future.
  14. I was a big fan of the New ProV1X! I thought the flight was a lot more controlled and I like the firm yet controlled feel around and on the putting surface!

Thanks for the opportunity to test the new prototypes! Both the V1 and V1x felt softer and more responsive, improving my game. Some specific observations:

-- Both of the V1xs that I hit into the water made a much more pleasurable "kerplunk" than the old model -- much deeper tone and resonance.

-- The V1 flew much more beautifully into the marsh on our course, landing much closer to a possible rediscovery point than the previous models.

-- I was also able to hit six skips over the pond with the new V1 as opposed to only two or three with the older model.

-- The V1x produced a much softer bounce off of the cart path than previous models, with less road rash than before.

I appreciate your confidence in my testing ability and look forward to receiving a sleeve (or two) to test sliding capabilities on our frozen canals this winter!

    Fairways and greens!

  16. I played with both - I did not see too much difference in the ProV1 distance wise. Around the green was the same for me. The ProV1x was much better than the old ProV1x. Felt very nice off of the club. The ball had good distance and was exceptional around the green. The ProV1x will be my ball for next year.
  17. This may be the best PRO-V yet. I love the stickiness of right out of the box. Same great distance for me but I feel like it stops faster with less spin. Literally drops and stops like the old slogan said. The best part is that it feels so soft when putting. I alternate between the PRO-V and Chrome Soft (because it really is soft)...now I don't have to. Literally ordering 12 dozen custom when available. Thank you for the opportunity to test them. (My +2 friend love the X too. Said it way longer off the tee and love the way it felt on his wedges)
  18. I played both recently. I also have a simulator in my basement to get a true comparison. I'm 64 years old and hit my driver about 230. I recently hit the new ProV1 prototypes and I did not find much difference based on the stats from my simulator for my swing. The new balls seemed to be much harder and I wasn't a fan of the sound or feel (although I dont notice this as much on the course). I gave a friend of mine who is 67 years old and normally scores between 73-78 on our course (5900 yards). He hit the ProV1X prototype noticeably farther. He only plays Titleist ProV1 balls. He loves the ball. It does make a CLACK sound coming off his irons but the distance was noticeable.
  19. I also wanted to note I would love to test out the Prototype of the new Titleist drivers. :)
  20. I had the chance to review these golf balls and they were amazing. Both the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x are exceptional golf balls, catering to different preferences. The Pro V1 offers a soft feel and excellent spin control around the greens, making it a favorite for players who prioritize touch. In contrast, the Pro V1x delivers more distance with a higher launch and lower spin, which is ideal for maximizing yardage off the tee.

As a low handicapper, I appreciate the strengths of both. The Pro V1 is perfect for finesse shots, while the Pro V1x gives me the extra distance I need on long drives. Ultimately, both balls excel in their own right, and choosing between them comes down to individual playing style. You can’t go wrong with either choice.
