I played last Friday and Saturday, and glad I did.

My club (private) closed on Tuesday due to our Governor's (MA) advisory. I completely understand the social distancing issue, but when I read about parks, beaches, etc. overflowing with crowds in close contact, I wonder about the wisdom of closing golf courses.

    Situation here in Scotland.

In its latest measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the UK Government has announced that everyone must now stay at home except in exceptional circumstances.
The new measures announced state that you may only leave home:
to go to work (if you are a key worker)
to infrequently shop for groceries, medicine and other essentials
to exercise outside once a day
to provide care or help a vulnerable person
    for any medical need
While golf is an outdoor sport that allows players to exercise in the fresh air, the message to all of us is clear, we must stay home and play our part in containing the spread of COVID-19.
With this in mind, Scottish Golf asks that all golfers in Scotland refrain from golfing until further notice.
We understand that this advice will have a significant impact on golf clubs across the country and we will continue to consult with industry partners to provide clubs with all information and support possible during this time of deep uncertainty.
We know that these decisions are difficult ones to make, but right now, it is our shared responsibility to prioritise the health of our local communities by working together to follow the Government guidelines. In doing so, this will ensure that we get the opportunity to play the game that we all love as soon as it is safe to do so.

As much as I want to play I'm not which really sucks being I haven't played since Nov 1 due to hanging Christmas lights, holidays, weather and other stuff. It's not worth me risking my family and friends health over me going out to play. Especially since the course I work at closed for Shelter in Place orders. I'd rather stay healthy and not risk others health because of it. There's plenty of time to play golf. Live aloha, stay safe and healthy everyone!
  4. My club (private) is still open and I played yesterday. Course was crowded. There are many rules we have to adhere to but we are able to play. Used an old set of MBs, 917 driver/3w though. If I had taken my current clubs out of the bag room, they could not be returned for storage.

My club, PGA Golf Club, is still open but members only, no guests or any type of outside play whatsoever. Clubhouse is closed except for the bathrooms which you access thru the rear entries used for making the turn. All social events cancelled and furniture has been removed from all outdoor seating areas. If you need something from the Pro Shop they go in and bring it out to you. Turn service available but refrigerators have been brought outside and a barbecue grill where you can get a burger or a hot dog ( They put on the condiments for you ). On the course, all bunker rakes have been removed, so lift, clean and place have been instituted for now. No touching the flagstick so they have cut up swimming pool "noodles" and put the flagstick thru the center hole. It's recessed about an inch below the top of the hole. 1 person per cart is strictly enforced. Those members who do not own carts must load their golf bags themselves. Water and ice stations have been closed so bottled water and ice are put into your cooler on the side of your cart.
