Brian, great post - this is one of the many reasons we're friends!

I would probably join the Titleist club, but I foresee myself becoming disenfranchised with it similar to Club Cameron. Some other swaggy Insta-based companies have tried similar tactics, and ultimately I think it ends up devaluing their product once it becomes a flipper's market.

Plus some CC and other company's releases seem really forced - which is a huge turn off.

TT logo stuff is great (and available for purchase from time to time), but honestly I'm here for the camaraderie, meet up events, and Titleist insider content. I've met more than a dozen people on this forum who I now proudly call friends, and for me, friendship trumps everything but family in my life.

The other cool thing about the TT swag is that it's not guaranteed, it's few and far between, free, and you don't get to pick what you get. Case in point, I got my first "non-dad" hat from TT at a meet up event; I wasn't sure if I'd like the look on my dome, but I gave it a shot and now they're my go to summer hats. I've since purchased several, and had TT not graced me with a lid outside my normal hat comfort zone, I'd never realize I like the style.

Honestly I'm thankful, and think it's amazing, that Titleist employs people specifically to keep this forum functioning. I can tell you that it is incredibly hard to put a ROI on an investment like this from a business standpoint, and I can't think of another brand - inside or outside of golf- that's got the same dedication to its loyalists. I'd hate to see that level of loyalty and dedication deteriorate in anyway.

I see positives and negatives either way. For me join TT was about connecting with other fellow Titleist fans. I am a member of Cameron Club and love the cool "welcome gifts", but very rarely purchase items from the releases. If TT created a club I would join for sure. For me the best part of TT is the camaraderie.
  4. Just like everyone has said, I’m very appreciative for the merch that I have had a chance to purchase or for the few items that have been sent to me. I would love to attend more TT outings, but I’m appreciative of the conversations and opportunities to link up with fellow TT members to play 18.

I'm very appreciative of all the TT swag that I may receive. But it's not a make or break thing for me. I just enjoy being on here talking to other TT members about the equipment & game that we all love. I'd love to get to a TT Event one day. Hopefully one will be in my price range & closer to my home someday.
  6. Interesting idea, and I would probably sign up for whatever it would be.

But I wouldn't want to see it get infested by flippers in the way that Club Cameron has. At the same time, I think the current practice of distributing swag to TT members seems pretty random and leaves people disillusioned . There should be a middle ground, maybe a system based on a social media score that takes into account your posts, likes, etc. here on TT and also maybe linked to Instagram or other accounts. And that would determine who is eligible and/or given the first option to purchase special items.
