Lost one of my Titleist irons on the course. No one ever returned it to the pro shop.

I have a good one to share. This past year, I was playing in a multiple day member guest. While using my range finder during the last round, I went to use my range finder and it was GONE! I could imagine what could have happened, but none the less I asked the Pro to make an announcement asking if anyone found a Bushnell. Of course, there was NOTHING but silence in the room...Chalked it up to me be naïve and just assume no one would have gone through my cart and picked off the gun, but I was proven Wrong. Very disappointed that someone would actually go into my cart between rounds and pinch my gun....I am hoping Karma finds it way to whoever took my gun.

Anyway, my beautiful wife knew how mad I was and how I rely on the gun for my distances...So for fathers day, she surprised me with a brand new Bushnell with the built in magnet. Thinking this would be great, as I can always place it back on the pole in front on my face on the cart. Of course, not being used to having a new gun that was black and somewhat blended in, I think I left it on the cart after my round for at least the next 3/4 rounds and thankfully each time, the caddy crew at our course was gracious enough to keep checking for me after my rounds and put it back in my bag.

After playing a 2 day event between 2 different courses, of course I did the same thing yet again. Left my gun attached to the dam cart. Did not realize this until I was reaching into the pouch on the 1st hole of day two and said to myself...I did it again. Since it was such a terrible rainy day, I decided to not call the other course, expecting to hear, Nope no one turned in a gun, so I decided to drive back to the other course as soon as my round was done and prey the gun was still there. After my round, I get in the car and head over..It is still pouring buckets, and I think that worked in my favor as the other course we played the day before actually did not let any carts out. As soon as I got to the lot, I ran into the proshop and asked, and of course, got the answer I was expecting...No sir, nothing turned in. So I decided I would take a walk over to the cart barn and poke my head around. Sure enough at the very opposite end of the barn, just about the last cart to check, there it WAS. Stuck to the same pole I left it on the day before.

Lesson learned after too many almosts with another gun. From that point forward, I set an alarm/reminder on my phone about 4 hours after the start of my round to send me a "Gentle kick in the butt" reminder to NOT forget to gun again.

Great post and apologies for rambling a bit. Finished this post in pieces..

Best and happy holidays to all and most of all BEST OF LUCK never dropping or losing anything on the course again.

I have the Stick It strap on mine and have done the exact same thing. I've gotten into the habit that after using it on my approach in 18 to put it in my bag rather than stick it on the cart. I haven't left it on the cart since I started making a conscious effort to put it in the bag on 18.
  4. Used to play with a chap (Peter) and one of the 4-ball was delegated the task of walking behind the other 3 in order to collect the items of clothing & equipment dropped/lost/abandoned by Peter. Without this proactive approach, dear old Pete would have run out of just about everything before finishing the round.

Left a range finder on the range playing one day. Didn't realize it till the 1st hole. Go back and its not there. The pro shop was awesome about it. I knew who used tht spot after me as I was waiting on my buddy to finish warming up. They tracked him down and he was actually using one exactly like I described, but said it was his. It just so happened that day a freind of a pro at the course who was also a police officer was playing that day. The officer used the information I gave him to question the person with the rangefinder. The officer asked him if he wouldn't mind allowing him to fingerprint it after the round, to which he said that was fine. At the turn, he turned it into the pro shop saying he had called his dada, and that his dad had actually taken from his bag, but he had the same model.

Not sure what to think about it all. I'm not sure how I would react to someone possibly claiming I had stolen or taken a rangefinder that wasn't mine, and to ask for it after the round to be fingerprinted. Thought that might have gone too far but it all worked out. I now have a sticker on it with my name and phone number on it. I also put the same sticker on the battery in case someone tries to simply take the sticker off.
