Every time i hit it left (which is way too often) i call it a "young chicken". You know, a "pullet".

Always been a fan of BIPSIC (Ball in pocket, sitting in cart) to inform your teammate that the rest of the hole is solely on them.

Hitting into the Jumangi (unplayable rough) became a favorite for me and my golf buddies in the late 90's...Banana Man for the habitual slicer....Hitting a Darth Fader for a deadly fade.

    Cheers,

Whenever I hit an errant shot, I just say, "Do something weird". 1 out of every 10 may get a favorable break. I also have a friend who can bomb the tee ball, occasionally when he's feeling like really sending it, right before starting the backswing he goes "V1", then "Rotate" or "Rotaté" after liftoff. Little aviation lingo there for you.

When a guy in your foursome hits a ball that's heading out of bounds, I've been known to say, "That ball is Oscar Bravo." I didn't come up with it, heard it from a guy who called my ball Oscar Bravo back when I was 14... loved it ever since.
  6. As an Oklahoman, the “Texas wedge” has always been one of my favorites! A new one has to be Justin Thomas “Talk dirty to me”! Ha!

When someone's put is way short or long we call dead sheep (still ewe) when it is still their turn to put
  8. Play with what you "brought to the dance". However you are hitting it that day, go with it.

From my early days playing golf with balata balls, "putting a smile on it", when you cut the cover of the ball on could hear the whizzing noise in the air.

Some of my group refer to a hard left pull a "Bernie" after the politician. And our local pro doesn't like the "s-word" so we say, "El Ho-sel".

Applicable to anything but my friends and I have used the word "Loft" or L.O.F.T. when we play for decades. You can say it in many ways depending upon the given situation. Like when you have a single join your group and he think's he knows it all and has an excuse for every shot.

One I just remembered, a friend once played with a guy from New Zealand, his saying after a good shot with a thick Kiwi accent, "avid strike mate, avid strike"

I mentioned this thread to a friend and he told me about one his cousin uses when they play a similar course to ours here in Miami... The course where we play runs through the houses in a neighborhood. When a ball goes over the fence into a yard, it's referred to as a "New Dog Toy"...

    I liked that...
  14. The guys I play with have a saying when you hit it into the woods. They say come on Louie. Meaning hoping the trees bat it back out into the fairway.
