I am still in disbelief my self. I played yesterday at the executive Southwinds golf course in Southgate MI. Played alone since none of my buddies were able to play, the golf course is mostly par 3s, 14 of them and 4 par 4s. Pretty normal round, I got a chance to work on my irons for the early season. By the turn, I had already had a couple of pars and a birdie. Started the back with a bad 8 on the par 4 10th, then a 5 on the par 3 11, pared 12, also a par 3 bogey 13, then great 7 iron from the tee on 14th playing about 145 yards, 15-foot putt for birdie. 15 was playing about 138, I thought to my self, that 7 iron felt great on the past hole, the flag is to the back of this one, let's try the 7 again. I hit the 7 again off the tee, it felt and sounded great, the sun was on my eyes so I lost sight of the ball going up. I caught a glimpse of the ball hitting the green and rolling towards the back, then disappearing, dang I caught it tin, I knew that green had a drop off the back edge, so I am thinking it rolled off the green. I came up and around the green and can't find my ball, I am thinking, I saw it hitting the green and taking a hop and roll, it can't be too far, then it dawns on me, it was in line with the flag, but I couldn't see the cup from the tee box, just the flagstick. I walk towards the cup with a million thoughts on my mind, mostly of disbelief. And sure enough, there is my Prov1x on the bottom of the cup, and I am playing alone. I pinch my self to make sure I am not still asleep and dreaming. Sure enough, it is real. No one to share the moment, but me and the geese on the nearby pond. Still pretty amazing.

Congratulations. Sorry you didn't have somene to witness and enjoy it with. Same thing happened to me years back. Thin shot and was sure it went over. Spent five minutes searching, dropped one, chipped up and found my ball in the cup. It wasn't my first, just the most unexpected. Funny that we are always aiming at the cup yet so surprised when one actually goes in.

    What a feeling! Congratulations
  4. I know the feeling. I've only had one and it was while I was playing alone. Either way it's still a great feeling. Congrats!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Well played!
  6. Congrats! I'm always "scared" when I play alone that this is going to happen. I would much rather get one with a witness or two. But a hole in one is a hole in one.

Now there is something you can relive time and time again. Congrats.... That 7 iron is going to have a special place in the bag.

When i get ready to get a new set of irons, I am saving the 7 and framing it with the ball.
  9. Congratulations Well, you know you have done it once...
Landed one on top of the flagstick once but that’s the nearest I’ve ever been.....

Eslon that is AWESOME!!! Congrats on your ACE. Hope you at least grabbed a pic of the ball at the bottom of that cup.

Sorry to hear no one else was able to witness your accomplishment, but we are all with you to recognize and congratulate you on such a unique experience.

If we do ever end up on the course together, I may just chase you down for a drink & a toast to celebrate your HIO...

Hopefully your next ACE has plenty of witnesses.. Best of luck chasing down #2

    All the best,
    -Brian

I was so shocked, that I just grabbed the ball and walked off.
I honestly always imagined how I would react and all of the emotions, in the end I just froze in disbelief.
The ball is saved waiting for glass case to arrive.
