Hello TT !
So I just wanted to to tell you all of a fantastic opportunity that came my way thanks to a TT Member.
I was kindly invited to Play the Magical & Historical Walton Health Golf Course in Surrey over the weekend and I have to say it was not just a round of Golf, But a pleasure to walk the fairways of this truly fantastic Golf Course.
The history attached to the course is pretty phenomenal and if you don’t know much about it I will give you a brief description.
The Club was founded in 1903. Walton’s first Captain, HRH the Prince of Wales, was not appointed until 1935. The Captain became King Edward VIII the following year. The clubs first Professional, James Braid, won five Opens and stayed for some forty-five years. Winston Churchill played regularly at Walton Heath. It staged the European Open in the seventies and eighties, the Ryder Cup in 1981, the British Ladies Amateur in 2000, the Senior Open in 2011 and The British Masters in 2018.
So the day arrived, I decided to stay at my Brothers in Epsom as coming down from Peterborough was a little to far to drive for a early tee off.
My brother and myself were greeted by Andrew At reception and kindly showed us around the property and showed us all the unique trophies including His Victory in the James Braid Cup in 2021.
After using the range and glass like greens we went to the first were we was greeted by fellow golfers all waiting to tee so no pressure hahaha.
Walking the course you can see why it’s up there as one of the best courses in the UK & Ireland it truly is a stunning piece of landscapes.
Without going on to much, The only way I got this opportunity was though this forum and Titleist.
Yes we play a great brand but Golf is more than just a sport, it’s a opportunity to make new friends and experience new courses you may never get the chance to play.
I will always be so Grateful to Andrew for allowing me and my brother to play Walton Health and make memories together so we can show are kids when they grow up and start playing the game.
Thank you again Andrew, and thank you to Titleist for keeping golfers together and making memories.
If anyone from the brand is reading a TT bag should be sent to Andrew for sure lol
