I really enjoyed Pine Needles

Played both this past Feb and will play both again this coming Feb, but my personal preference was Mid Pines.

Pine Needles is my vote!

I have played both of them several times. They are great courses and are really quite different layouts. Mid Pines seems to play shorter than Pine Needles. I also will be playing both of them in January-February 2020. If I had to play just one, I would choose Pine Needles.

I have played both, and both are great tracks. I would say if I had to play one Pine Needles would be my choice.

Have played both many times. They are quite different. Mid Pines is an old fashioned walkers course. You leave one green and there is the next tee box. If crowded, this can be claustrophobic. Pine Needles is more modern and a fantastic golf course. The US women's open has been played there a number of time. Also, the range and putting green at Pine Needles is quite nice. Love them both and the old world decor of the lodges.

Played Pine Needles and had a blast.

My indoctrination to the Team Titleist family. Found out that TT only puts on first class events. This was a one day event.

I really like both courses, but I like Mid Pines a little more.

Hi Mark! I've played both Pine Needles and Mid Pines many times, and I can confidently say they are two of the best (if not the best) courses to play in the Pinehurst area. No matter which one you choose, you can't go wrong! Both are typically in amazing shape and are overseeded with rye grass this time of year.

My #1 suggestion: Make sure you head to the Pine Needles Bar + Lounge area for a 19th hole beverage - and get the Bell burger, you won't regret it!

I have played both courses 15 plus times since the pandemic and absolutely love both. The comments above are accurate, Mid Pines, smaller and more intimate, a mini Agusta with great green complexs, Pine Needles, larger more championship feeling, but both fantastic Ross/Pinehurst golf at its best. Pinehurst 5 miles away also awesome, just different, more formal, bigger, 2 and 4 are maintained to a level very few courses are. All very playable INHO, pars are a good score, birdies very hard and bogey a fairly easy score on most holes on all.

I just played them over the summer. Mid Pines was an absolute disgrace. I was told the grass died and they were still charging pull price. It was hard pan or mud on every fairway and tee box, very little grass on the fairways and tee boxes. Pine Needles was a little better. Call ahead and ask questions, luckily you aren't paying to play. Mid pines was a dog track. Have many pics to prove it.

Pine Needles all the way. Great bar for a post round beverage or meal. Mid Pines is nice but as others have said Pine Needles has hosted multiple US Women Open's and Sr Women's Open this past May.

Pine Needles. But being from Charlotte, you know better than to expect too much from the course this time of year. I played it last April and it was rough. Still coming out of dormancy.

The clubhouse and facilities just ooze history. Big fan of Peggy Kirk Bell and her contributions to the game. Cool place.

Have stayed there 6 times.I am an Englishman and am the odd man out in my group,with 7 Americans as company.
We always stay in the 4 bedroom house to the right of 18 green on Pine Needles.The steps to the veranda are by the bunker on the right of the green.
You can grab a cold beer within 30 seconds of finishing,sooner if in the second group as the first group will have the drinks ready when you arrive on the buggy.
When I first went there I preferred Mid Pines but over time I have changed my mind and now prefer Pine Needles.

I played both courses in June. They were in good shape and provided a very enjoyable experience. I really can’t pick one over the other. I like both of them.

played mid pines and loved it even thought it was in just above freezing temps. Have the chance to play either course this Nov and think I will be playing Pine Needles just so I can tick off another course in the area.

Mid Pines is my favorite track in the Pinehurst area
