    Hey, Team Titleist!

If you haven't visited the Titleist Instruction Center lately, please check out the video below from Titleist staff member Justin Parsons. In this video Justin takes us to the tee box on the 11th hole at Sea Island Resort's Seaside Course. And he has a few thoughts on club selection off the tee.

The strategic trend in today's game is to hit driver off the tee whenever you can. The thinking is that advancing the ball as far as possible puts a shorter club in your hands on your approach shot. For pros and amateurs, statistics suggest that this leads to lower scores, on average. But as Justin shares, it's much wiser to weigh your options and analyze every tee shot on a case-by-case basis.

Selecting a club isn't just about X's and O's - the right club will reduce the anxiety you feel and allow you to perform at your best. If a certain club doesn't feel quite right in your hands, your subconscious mind is telling you something.

One question for the community as you watch this tip – do you have a bunted driver shot in your bag? I love the concept and would love to start working on a controlled cut like Justin demonstrates in the video. I play a lot of 3-metals on tighter holes, but when the pressure is on that smaller club head can look miniscule. I might breathe a little easier with more surface area to work with. How about you?

In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing even more content like this that addresses practical ways to improve your on-course performance. Please drop a comment if you have any suggestions and we'll do our best to have our expert teachers like Justin address them. Thanks!
