Playing in Scotland this May. Looking to purchase new rain gear that’s not only waterproof but very breathable. Current FJ HydroLite gear generally keeps me dry from rain showers but not breathable (feels like a sauna inside at times). Any advice would be appreciated.

I find the FJ Hydoknit to be a little softer than the Hydrolite but you will find it difficult to completely eliminate perspiration on the inside and retain waterproof qualities on the outside no matter what rain gear you purchase. One of the best ways to remain dry from perspiration is to minimize inside layers and if it isn't too cold, make sure you keep the neck area open and wear a waterproof bucket hat to keep rain out of the neck. Unfortunately, when playing at Bandon, Scotland, or Ireland, there are just days when the rain is so heavy or coming sideways, and no matter what you wear or do, you are just going to get wet. Hopefully you have some great days over there and don't have to use the rain gear at all.

Am looking at my catalog and there are four options in the golf rain protection gear. 1. Dryjoys Select Rain Jacket and Pant. 2. Hydrotour Rain Jacket and Pant. 3. Hydroknit Pullover and Vest. 4. HydroLite X Rain Jacket, Rain Hoodie, Short Sleeve Rain Shirt, Rain Pant, and Hydro Short. Rain gear is designed to keep you dry with some breathability built in. The HydroLite X would be the lightest of the four options. But during certain temperatures during the summer the rain suit will be warm. I love my SS Rain Shirt and Shorts, even when the temperature is 100* +. When I went to Ireland, I took two rainsuits and one of them was a Hydrolite and never had the opportunity to wear either of them. The other was a Gore-Tex, ZR. We went in October.

TOTALLY agree with Todd. Packs light in the golf bag. Do not forget the FJ bucket rain hat 35813H and the Raingrip gloves (I even wear the gloves in the summertime when the humidity is unbearable, at least one of them.)

Zero Restriction. I have their jacket, pants and a 1/4 zip short sleeve pullover. Gore-Tex and very breathable. Down here in Florida, I put them on when we get hit with ever present 15 minute summer monsoon and they are very comfortable.
