Hey Team Titleist,
Major Championships at the birthplace of golf always seem to add more juice to the air, and the 150th Open Championship at The Old Course is no different. With such a great mix of iconic holes and generations of moments to look back upon, it's almost impossible to pick out one feature from Old Tom Morris' magnum opus. Almost.
The Par-4 17th at the Old Course is one of the most iconic holes in the Open Rota. The aptly named "Road Hole," features a hotel, a bar, and of course a road in and around the confines of this 495 yard beast. So how should you go about playing this monster when within arms reach of the famed Claret jug? Look no further than Jim "Bones" Mackay.
Currently on the bag for Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas, Bones is one of the best loopers in the game of golf. With six major championships on his record, (most recently the 2022 PGA Championship) we caught up with Bones during a practice round this week to show us how to navigate the Road Hole.
