With the different options available to us when selecting a ball to game (virtual consultations, ball selector tool and in person ball fittings), is there one option that is recommended over the others?

I will be turning 76 in September and have been a fan of the Prov1 for many years. Love the feel, accuracy and flight off my clubs. As a super senior would the tour speed give me any advantage over the prov1? To gauge my irons i can still hit my 7 around the 150 plus mark. My driver is in the higher percentile.

Additionally with the presses rolling at max getting balls out to accounts as fast as possible do you guys feel Titleist will catch up enough to offer 4 for 3 later this year? Suspect the answer will be no, based on deliver and demand, but have to ask.

Thanks for all you guys do. You are the very best.

I realize that there isn’t a one size fits all answer when it comes to golf balls. I’ve played both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x, but I’m still uncertain which is the better fit. As an avid recreational, amateur golfer, I’ve played well using either. But as an avid recreational, amateur golfer, I’ve also played poorly with either.

For people with mortal swing speeds who may benefit from additional spin from their golf ball, which ball would they recommend? Thinking more about iron shots and minimizing roll out on the greens. I think the Pro V1x is the better choice for me, but I’m never 100% sure

Here's a chicken or the egg question. Should you be fit for your ball if you are planning on getting fit for clubs, or should you get fit for your clubs before a ball fitting? Since spin and launch matter in both, which is more important. Also, I have been bouncing between the AVX and the V recently and like the performance of both. Would a ball fitting be able to figure out which is a better fit for me? By the way, I also really liked the left dot V a lot. Thanks.

If I got fitted for the AVX, will it hurt my game if I continue to use the other balls that I have while mixing in so with the AVX? I just don't want to waste my other new balls.

I say yes, just so you can get used to the performance and feel of the AVX. Plus if you keep track of stats on apps like Shotscope then you can track performance between your old ball and the AVX. If you don't have many left you could possibly trade or sell your existing balls to get more AVX's

I say yes, just so that you can get used to the performance and feel of the AVX. Plus if you are using an app to track your rounds and stats then when you switch fully the stats will be more accurate when doing VS comparisons.

If you don't have many left of your old balls, you might be able to trade them for AVX's at a store, sell them online, add your logo and gift them away or using them in the shag bag for practice.

Tommy. The better the golfer, the more they can notice the differences between any ball and therefore, the more important it is to try and stick to one brand/model. For casual play, a mid to high handicapper would not have a problem switching back and forth. For a low to scratch player, it would impact their ability to hit their exact yardages and to predict spin/stopping results. Also the USGA rules for any official event requires you to stay with the same model golf ball throughout the entire round of golf. Have fun out there.

Are there any differences in performance, durability, quality, flight, spin, distance, etc., between optic yellow vs. white Titleist balls?
Or are they exactly the same?

Let’s say you haven’t lost a ball and have been playing with the same ball for numerous rounds. It doesn’t have any scuff marks or gauges on it. Is there a point at which the ball may begin to lose performance and you should take it out of play?

Have been using the Velocity balls at the beginning of the season and now switching to the Pro V1. What should I know about the performance difference?

    1. Typically how many months does Titleist do R&D on a ball before letting on course testing begin?
    2. When can I get Pro V1 left dot..???? please. Lol

With clubs (mainly drivers/fairways) going more High Launch / Low Spin does ball R&D consult with Club R&D for synergies and complementary characteristics?

Currently living in Arizona and I am a huge fan on the ProV1x. It's been an exclusive gamer for a few years now. I normally play in clear, warm, dry conditions and love the height and spin, but on a recent trip to Spanish Bay my game was brutalized by the wind. I'm traveling again soon to Scotland and its got me thinking, should I be bringing AVX instead? Is it ever recommended to change your ball based on conditions?

As we know, wind can change your ball flight and the stronger the wind the more you'll see. The AVX is known to fly lower and spin less than the ProV1x. Also, understand that you will notice a difference in feel for each ball.

If you could swing it (pun intended), bring a sleeve of both types of balls, and see how each is behaving on different holes early in your round and go with the one that is playing the best for that day.
