It's an exciting day for us here at Titleist as it marks the official start of the tour seeding and validation process for our next generation of Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls!

That's right, the final Pro V1 and Pro V1x prototypes, manufactured at Titleist Ball Plant 3 in New Bedford, Mass., will be delivered to player’s lockers today at TPC Summerlin and our golf ball R&D team will also be on site to work with players as they test the new products and determine the model that best fits their game.

This is just the beginning of Titleist’s seeding and validation process that will continue over the coming weeks and months. Gathering feedback from the game’s best players through every stage of the R&D process, and then earning their validation under the pressure of competition, are critical elements in the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment.

So stay tuned to Team Titleist and we'll be sure to share more updates along the way!

FUN FACT: TPC Summerlin is also where Titleist’s original Pro V1 prototypes were first introduced to PGA Tour players in October of 2000, at what was then the Invensys Classic. Eventual winner Billy Andrade was one of 47 players who immediately put the ball in play that week, marking a groundbreaking shift in equipment usage at a single event that has yet to be surpassed.

    UPDATES FROM THE TOUR:

Practice rounds are underway in Las Vegas and the  initial feedback is starting to roll in. Here's a note our Tour Staff received from Greg Chalmers after his first practice round:

“I played 9 holes with the new prototype Pro V1x today. If it performs in tournament conditions like today then you guys have officially built the perfect golf ball ... Can I switch to that ball this week? If so can I get 1/2 dozen more to practice with the next couple days.”

Great news! Looking forward to them.
  3. It would be appreciated if you could be specific as to the quality of golfer (in case of club head speed) that these balls suit. As a veteran golfer of almost 78 years with obviously a much slower speed swing than is needed to get the most out of these balls, please be honest and tell us what swing speed is needed to launch both the Pro VI and VIx.

Also you could sell much more, other Titleist brand balls if ideal swing speeds suited which balls, was printed on the relative boxes containing them.

Awesome news Mike. Even this crazy year did not stop the progress and continuous refinement of Titleist products. Look forward to this next generation of balls.

Exciting time of the year. Merry Titleist(mas)! Can't wait to hear more about the Pro V1 and what the updates will be. I read on another blog this morning this will be "the most significant advancement since the original launch 20 years ago." Looking forward to it. I do like the look of the alignment arrows.

    Awesome!
  8. Exciting to see how you can constantly improve the best and not rest on your laurels.
  9. Was fortunate recently to get a sleeve of each ball....wow! The new X is possibly one of the best ever! More spin around greens for stopping power, softer feel and slightly higher launch all come together in one impressive ball.

Can’t wait to get a couple dozen to be using them on a daily basis!

    Cheers,
    Chris
