I blew the L5-S1 disk in my lower back nine years ago. The stretches and core training taught to me by my chiropractor and physical therapist have kept me playing without surgery. I sit at a desk all day, which is a killer and stretching the hamstrings, hips, core, etc., is a must before playing.
