In reality if someone is going to steal your clubs they're going to do so and just scrap labels off. That being said I have them for the honest folks that find your club when you leave it next to a green after using it to chip, or when deciding driver or 3 wood on the tee and you forget the other there because you starting yakking with your friends too much after teeing off. When they turn it into the pro shop they know who's it is and can contact you or not give it to the wrong person. Otherwise if you play with a bunch of guys who play Titleist too and get in a cart, friends or being paired up, when the club ends up in the wrong bag you knows who's who's. Either that or something to differentiate yours from others with some mark. Like my old driver below

As with everything else, I suspect safe return of "mislaid" property would depend entirely upon who finds it!

Been using them for 25 years, ever since a club that I formerly belonged to required them as part of bag storage. I get them from id labels.com aka Pinhigh Labels 1-800-822-8841. $ 9.95 + shipping for 20 labels. Same quality as a mfg's shaft label. Rarely happens, but about 2 years ago I left a wedge by the green and got a message on my phone and went over to the hole where the guy who picked it up was playing. I sent the girl on the beverage cart over to him to give him a drink on my account. All's well that ends well.

Like most things, this falls into the personal preference category. Having a name label on a club doesn't always guarantee it will be returned to the pro shop/club house and eventually to the owner.

I probably insure my clubs before I put a label on them which I have. Added it to my home owners insurance, right above my wife's jewelry :)

Rely on your insurance and honesty on the course..... And, just don't forget clubs on the course!

I label the kids clubs - just makes sense as there are a lot of very similar sets at our club. I do not label my own, though I do keep pretty close track of them. I use a 14 way separated bag currently and it is super easy to see straight away of something is not in it's spot.


For the kids we use a label maker with clear tape/black type so it does not stand out too bad but is visible when you look for it. I put the label on the underside of the shaft near the ferrule so they cannot see it at address either.

Never thought of doing that, but see the benefit in it. I also think I'll give my insurance guy a call while I order some labels. Great insight

I have some. They have my name, address and phone number. They are clear with blue lettering. You hardly notice them unless you are looking for them.

May want to record the serial numbers now that most are laser-etched. If more than one club is "misplaced" that's information that the police can use.

No labels. Maybe walking all those courses has something to do with a good habit of keeping track of clubs. Not a fan of "zooming" around in carts if I'm allowed to walk.

My club provides them free of charge, yet many still don't use them. I've used them for at least 15 years with several different sets of clubs.

Why wouldn't you?

I like to put name labels on my clubs and my range finder.
You have to believe that any little bit helps if things get left behind.
Once i had a guy try to walk off the practice green with my 60 degree...he picked it up from the collar and put it in his bag...I called him on it...showed him my name label...it was a very interesting moment.

Want to be able to imprint Titleist Tru soft with two digit number of my choice

I use Golf Pride grips in red, easier to see against the green on the ground. Of course I had to red paint fill all the markings to match the grips.
