  1. Like to start with a 7 or 8-iron with feet together and hitting 1/4 shots, feeling the club drop in the slot, hips first and ball first contact. Wedges next then long irons. Wedges again then woods/driver and then finish again with wedges. My favorite warm-up and I shorten/lengthen # of shots depending on time.

    15 min chipping
15 min putting and a few more chips.
15 iron warm up and a few drivers...then off to the tee!

    Cheers,

  3. Depending on time, I usually start with a few easy swings with a wedge to get loose then work my way to short irons, mid-iron, long iron then Driver. 3-Wood depending on the course. If it is a course I am familiar with, I will envision the first hole and go with what I will hit off the tee and approach shot to get my mind into making a shot instead of just hitting the ball. Then work on chipping and putting.

BTW, lots of great routines in the previous posts.
  4. Always stretch before I swing a club! Once I’m stretched I will hit a couple 60 shots or 54s just to get my swing started then I will practice like I play. Hit a driver, then 7 iron. Hit Driver then PW. Hit Driver then 50 degree. I’ve always found this helps me hone in on what I really am going to do during my round and get those swings in order. I will do that for maybe 20 balls then hit 3-5 of each club and go to the putting green. This works great for me!

60 to 7 or 8i (depending on who and where I am playing... some places I play the up tees some I play back) to driver and if time I’ll hit a few 3woods but that doesn’t happen much

I try to arrive 30-45 minutes before my tee time to do some back stretches and to get some time in the pitch and putt area. I’m confident in my swing but if my short game isn’t there to save me, then it’s going to be a long day. As far as my swing, the first tee is how I determine what adjustments I need to make to my swing during play.

Abby I’m the same as you. Start with a few half wedges, full wedges, irons, hybrid then driver. Wrap it up with some chipping and putting to get the feel for the greens before heading to the tee!
  8. Start w/stretching, then few swings with Orange Whip, then alternate between half shots and full shots with p/wedge, 8 iron, then knock downs and full shots with 6 iron, then full swings with 5 wood, driver, and then back to some wedges. Few swings with club being used off first tee, then some putts from fringe to fringe on putting green to get speed down......

The pre-round warm-up varies depending on the day/course. If I am coming from work midday, it consists of putting my shoes on and heading to the tee. Rounds on the weekend will consist of some light stretching, 5 minutes of putting, 30 or so shots on the range and then a few more putts before heading to the first tee.

I follow the Tom Watson method... Start with the 4 iron and hit little chips off a tee then progress to full shots off the deck. Figure if I can hit full-bore shots with the 4 iron its going to be a good day. Then Ill move down to the LW for flop shots and chip some drivers forcing on center strikes.. Hit the putting green and roll a few 009's. Back to range to play the first hole of the course!

I start with swinging the orange whip, hit chip shots, putt, then hit 5 wedges, 5 7 irons, 5 hybrids and 3 drivers.
  12. Start with stretching then move onto hitting balls with the DST compressor to work on getting my hands to the ball first. Then hit wedges at specific targets moving straight to the mid irons then fairway woods and driver. Off to the putting green for 10 minutes stopping back by the range to hit 3 shots with the club I will be using on the 1st tee.
  13. I start with light stretching followed by 6 rh swings and 6 lh swings with my Orange Whip. I’ll then hit 6-8 wedges(any loft depending on target distances available). 6-8 #6or7 irons, 3-4 #4 irons, couple of hybrids, couple 3woods, and 3-5 drivers. I’ll finish with a few flop shots and then move to the putting green for a few chips and putt for whatever time I have left. And off to the tee I go!!

During the winter months our normal course has no range other than a couple of nets and some mats. Mostly work on some chipping and putting. During the summer we get to play a variety of places and if the range is available, it's a more normal routine of wedges and up.

Stretching is key to get ready. Then a quick rundown of irons and wedges.
    Then short game before putting.

I start with a good stretch and using my orange whip.
The It’s wedge, short Iron, mid Iron, hybrid, 3 wood, driver. I hit even clubs on even days and odd on odd days that way nothing gets worn more than others. After Driver a few pitches and chips with the lob wedge and then to the putting green. Right before first tee a few more swings with the orange whip for tempo and off we go.
  17. I hit a few putts to see how the greens might be running. Then I go to the first tee. I do a few stretches, swing two clubs to loosen up, hit a few chips on the tee box and then I'm off. Just a note of explanation. I'm almost 70 yrs. old and feel that doing too much at the start of the round gets me too tired by the 15th hole or so especially in the summer heat of the southeast (90+ degrees today). Fairways and greens to all.

  18. Start with my 8 iron because of its comfortable length, work up to driver. Then pitches, chops, putts.
