Please bring back the old way. It was easier to stay up to minute with discussions. Having things arranged in a chronological order makes it a bit simpler for us seasoned members.

I mostly use the site from my phone.
That being said I have to search for discussions to find a subject I want to participate in. Change the layout from subjects to newly posted. We can always click on to specific categories.
I do not want to search hard for interesting topics, and find myself quickly uninterested.

Hi everyone ... a couple of questions:

    1. Is it my imagination or does this format allow for older posts to "resurface" to the top once a newer post is made to that particular forum?

If that is correct, then I think that is excellent - as it would allow for less topic threads and an easier method of keeping up to date on newer contributions to any given post/forum.

    2. The "Like", "Quote" and "Reply" buttons are great ... in particular the addition of the "Like" button. I also love the fact that there is no longer a requirement for me to confirm that I am not a robot ... I found that particular feature to be very cumbersome and difficult to work with at times.

Suggestions ...for navigational purposes, it would be terrific if there was a "sidebar" or side navigational panel that would allow a user to click on a particular FORUM Category rather than having to go back to the HOME category to get to a different Forum Category.

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their Fourth of July holiday!

I also liked the old forum better too. Easier to go through what you wanted and keep up, and add my voice to the other great points above too. Thanks

Although I'm thrilled I'm no longer asked if I'm a robot, and enjoy the "like" feature, I must agree with the majority here, that the new format is not all that great...
For me, the big issue is I can no longer simply click on "Discussions" and see all the posts in chronological order. Now, I have to surf category to category to keep abreast of what's going on. It takes far more time, and is much less user friendly.
The layout of the page is less than exciting, as well. It screams "Generic!". Surely some color, icons for subjects, maybe even a picture of something golf related, isn't beyond the abilities of the page designer?
What we really could have benefited from is a real time chat, where posts and conversations could be read without a significant and discouraging delay. That's what we needed, not this boring, generic, time consuming mess.

Yeah this format is not my cup of tea either, too hard to even get to the newest posts and reply

After a few days of adjustment, I don't mind it. I liked the "preview" feature of the previous forum iteration, where the first couple of sentences were visible about a thread, kind of gave you a sense of what it might be about and if you wanted to dig further, or move on.

From the top menu of the Titleist page, I don't think there needs to be as many links to get into the forums. Just one is sufficient.

One last thing, which is very important, have a trash icon so we can delete our posts if we want to.
  11. I do prefer the old forum setup, but love the new "like button" and not having to "verify posts" before posting.
  12. It was fun to just see chronologically the headers and the content of the latest discussions, and have the choice to read on or skip, or go to a specific forum/category....kinda like reading the morning paper. The new layout's a little 'cold' less welcoming, and kinda like having the 'Contents & Index' on the main page of the paper. Nothing to peruse but headers and 'go to page' pointers instead. I'm sure I'll adapt and get used to the new look and navigation but I'm not feeling the same enjoyment and fun in checking out discussions with this one for the moment.

IMHO- If the posts were arranged by the date of the original post rather than the date of the latest reply, it might be easier to like it. Right now if you look at the posts the dates jump all over the place. It also seems that fewer posts are happening since the change.

    Ya broke it gang!

Mike, just finding it difficult to go back and find topics I was participating in. It appears that bringing up previous posts is the biggest issue, from what I am reading, easily. Not complaining about change, I like new challenges, when they can benefit the site. Maybe some instructions or a short tutorial regarding using the new changes for some of us old timers. Remember, I am 72, pal. Thanks, with respect and cheers, Chuck.......

So why is Dave N's "latest post" from 7 July stuck in the middle of a group of posts from 2 July, shouldn't it be last?

Because it was a reply to a previous post. This is why it is indented.

Yup what Tyler said.. It used to be like this a long time ago and really liked it.. If someone commented on an old post, it should be up first to see what's going on. The FootJoy community is the same way.. I actually like it..

I'm getting use to the new forum with no issues. So far so good...

The only indentation that I see are when someone quotes another persons post and in the two posts Dave N made in this thread he was not quoting anyone. On page 1 of this thread is a post from Dave (about the fourth post on the page) that is time stamped 7 July around 5:00pm and the posts before and after it all are 2 July. When I saw it this morning I made a post simply because it looked out of place in the time stamp order.

We all do Dave. Given that your two posts from the 7th ended up is different areas of the thread I'm guessing it's a software issue, which was all I was trying to point out.

So you said the line came from a song, it sounds familiar but I can't come up with the song title. What is the song?
