Hole #14 @ Oak Quarry in Riverside, CA has been voted the best Par 3 in Southern California and I think the picture speaks for itself.

Hole #2 at Lauderdale Lakes CC, East Troy, WI. From the tips, it's 231 yards, and you must shoot through a keyhole formed by two trees. There is almost always a center pin position as a reward. Par's a good score...birdie is best you can expect. It is the longest Par 3 in Wisconsin...
  3. I would add a few more:

    #2 Somerset Hills
    #3 Rivieria
    #15 Los Angeles Country Club

All great , different and challenging.
  4. My favorite has got to be hole 7 of Makai. It's been a while since I played this course on my trip to Hawaii, but I honestly think it's one of the more beautiful (and intimidating) par-3s I've ever played.

Great topic Rick! I love Par 3's. I've never been fortunate enough to score an invite to Myopia, but I've heard nothing but good things, and No. 9 seems like a brute. There's so many good Par 3's out there it's really impossible to pick just one.

It seem like Pete Dye is a big fan of the 17th hole being a pesky picturesque par 3. While I would have to put 17 at Sawgrass and Whistling Straits on my list too, this little gem at Kiawah Island gets my bid.
No. 17 at the Ocean Course is no pushover. Similar to Sawgrass all you see from tee is railroad ties and water. It's significantly longer that Sawgrass, but it's not quite as long as No. 17 at Whistling Straits. I've played this hole twice in life, and like it's sibling 17's, it's a tee shot you don't soon forget.

  6. I actually love the par 3, hole number 7 at TPC RiversBend in Cincinnati Ohio.

Got an island hole at my home course. 172-145, depending on tee, downhill, green about the same size at TPC 17, but there is a small bailout. The water is a moat surrounding the green about 12 feet across, and the green is elevated about 4-6 feet off that. We all have a love/hate relationship with it. Other than that, 17 at Harbour Town. Depending on the wind off the sound, can play anywhere from a 9 iron to a 3 iron.

I've played a few courses with Island greens. The Wolf at Piaute in Vegas has a good one, and there was one near Ventura California on a course I can only remember as "The Vineyard". What course do you play at?

#15 at North Berwick (Scotland), the original "Redan" hole. Nearly made an Ace, tapped in for birdie.
