  1. We travel to our home on Amelia Island Florida, play golf in the morning while our turkey is cooking. Home for sandwiches and football in the afternoon followed by a nap with the dogs.
  2. Greetings from sunny California. Thanksgiving traditions include an 8am shotgun start followed by turkey dinner with the people I love. Enjoy your families to your fullest, it’s something you’ll never regret.
    My best to you all!

We don't have a large family and what we have is scattered around the country. We've been to San Diego for X-mas and this year we came to Pinehurst for Thanksgiving. May not be an annual tradition, yet, but it's a nice alternative if we would otherwise be at home. Playing my last round on the last hole of the year, finishing with a birdie on a par 5 by chipping in caps a good year.

Played at Achasta in Georgia with my grandson and two of his clients before Thanksgiving. The weather was just great, the golf good and the fellowship was super! Still working on my golf! Glad to be playing still at 82, and shot my age twice this year! Ray Schuetze

Always on the golf course weather permitting! My daughters join me (more cartwheels then golf) and we just enjoy the day.

There had been a tradition at our Club, The Marlborough Country Club, where a few groups of "senior" members, would go out on Thanksgiving morning and play 9 holes before heading off the to the local high school football game. "Officially" the Club was not open, so it was walking only, and went on for years. Like you said in New England the weather was not cooperating yesterday, but also, as more and more of these members move on to their "eternal" club, it seems to be waning, as like with all golf participation now a days, family comes first. But it has been a great tradition, and kudos to those who started it a long time ago. The rest of us will be playing tomorrow, with better weather, and hoping for a few more over the upcoming weeks. Thanks Abby

Me and my brother have a new tradition. Where we go outside and hit some fruit with some golf clubs! Very fun I’d recommend this one.

Didn't get out this year, the weather guessers said it would rain, low and behold it poured all day long , first time they got it right this year. Next year we hope.
  14. For the last 9 years, my wife and I have spent Thanksgiving week at our condo at Talamore Resort in Southern Pines, NC. We have friends who live at Pinehurst, and other friends from Virginia usually come down for the holiday. We play golf every day. This year we had 2 rounds at Talamore, two at MidSouth, and other rounds at Pinehurst #9, Pinewild Magnolia, and Pine Needles. We kind of took a day off and played the Cradle at Pinehurst (9 holes par 3, a blast) and wasted a couple of hours on the Thistle Dhu putting course, reminiscent of the Himalayas in St Andrews.
