The etiquette section in the USGA rules of golf says: "Players should always show consideration for other players on the course and should not disturb their play by moving, talking or making unnecessary noise. Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players." It seems to me that if anyone else can hear "your music" while playing a stroke, it's too loud and is the duty of the offender to turn off the sound. How do you all feel about it?
I totally agree with you and plus it's "Rude"

its not rude if I ask my foursome and they all agree it's cool.. And mine never blasts so that its heard the next fairway over,

I totally agree Fred. No music or cell phone ringing in backswings. This happens a lot at my local course on league night. Drives me nuts and my game usually suffers from frustration.

I have a friend I play with and he plays music. It's playing in the golf cart at a level we can here in the cart only.

A buddy of mine likes to listen to music when he plays, but I just can't do it. It messes with the rhythm of my swing too much. However, I'm not such a stickler of the rules that I'd ever tell a stranger they had to turn down their music. My buddy on the other hand, well....
