Adjustable weight and ball spin rates

    Hi,

    I am planning to get fitted for 913D2 driver.

    Thinking of having 44inch shaft but still want D3-D4 swingweight.  My driver swing speed is around 90-92 mph. Do not mind slightly heavier shaft but not too heavy. So was thinking of making use of interchangeable headweigh. If we increase the weight in driver head, would this also impact launch angle and spin rate. Thinnking, this should further lower CG hence increasing both launch angle and spin rates. Does this mean we might have to go for slighly less lofted driver due to added head weight ? For agrument sake, let's say attack angle is 0 degree.

    Thank you for your queries.

    You are 100% correct that if we reduce the length of a driver or any club for that matter it will reduce the swingweight. During the process of building our drivers we use the suitable SureFit head weight to obtain the recommended swingweight. In some case desired swingweight is unable to be achieved, this is usually when there is something fairly unusual in the specs of club.

    Adjusting to a heavier SureFit weight can increase launch and reduce spin. However if the swing becomes too heavy for the player it may have a negative affect on your ball speed, technique and launch conditions. Adding weight may also change the feel of your club and shaft characteristics which could again have a positive or negative effect, dependant on the individual player.

    To get the optimal set up for your 913 Driver you're best bet is always, as you suggested to get fitted for the club in question.
