It's the next best thing to a major!

Have any of you been lucky enough to tee it up on The Stadium Course?

    Who's your pick this week?

Never been but would love to go.   One of my favorite events and courses.   I am rooting for Duf.    The 1:39 tee time looks like an interesting group too, Stricker, Scott, and Fowler.

I haven't heard great things about it.  I think it ranks as one of those really nice courses that has it's prestige inflated due to the Player's Championship being there. However, with that being said, I'd like to play there some day just to say I did.

I'm going with Adam Scott or RM.  Both seem to be playing really well this year but just need to put it all together for four days.

I live 30 minutes from TPC and have a social membership but I haven't teed it up on the stadium yet….But you bet i will be next week when its in phenomenal shape!

My predicted Top 5 this week are PM, Fowler, Spieth, PR, and SG…..but not in that order. They're all gonna be in the top 5 and one of them is gonna win this week.

I've been lucky enough to play The Stadium Course.  In my opinion, the front 8 is a little so so (4 is a really fun hole), but from 9-18 it's a memorable track.  11 was my favorite hole, and obviously, the last three holes are unreal.  I can only imagine what it would be like with the gallery all around.  Here's a worm's eye view of the 17th from the pro tees.

Great thread guys. I haven't had the chance to tee it up on the Stadium Course yet, but it is definitely on my list.

In terms of picks for this week... I'm not making any predictions on my end. It's almost like having to say who you're favorite child is... :)

However, let's keep our guesses here to Titleist Brand Ambassadors or Golf Ball Players. Unfortunately we can't post the names of players we don't have agreements with and this way we won't have to edit all of your replies.

    Thanks for understanding.

    Cheers,

    Mike

I coach a women's college team and we've been lucky enough to play the Stadium Course. One of my players hit the stick on the 17th!

And yes, we're definitely a Titleist team - bags and golf balls. Thanks, Titleist, for your continued support of college golf.

I have played The Stadium Course.  Walked it with a caddie, great experience.  17 with no wind and no crowd is still an awesome hole but not nearly as intimidating as you'd think.  Tee shot on 18 was more intimidating, in my opinion.

No pick from me but always pulling for Dufner.

I really wanted to walk, but the up charge was around 150 clams.  I'm sure it was awesome walking with the caddy.

My caddy (forecaddy) was awesome.  His advise, especially reading the grain of the putts was priceless.  I also agree that 18 had a way harder shot than 17, but on 17, the pro tees are further to the left (if you're looking at the green).  That little bunker is probably all they see.  So much drama packed into 3 holes.

As for predictions, I bet Jimmy Walker lights it up.  He's been so good this season.

Mine was a 40th birthday present so that's why the caddy.  We hit on 17 from the pro tees and the pin was close to where it will be on Sunday, right side of the green.  Just hate that I 3 putted.:)

  11. I I have played the Stadium course, absolute quality so many different holes, had a notable finish of 3, 3 just missing the birdie on 17 and raking in a 30 footer on 18...and that got me to about 25 pts stableford...! Very tough, but great experience. Looking to go back again someday now we know are way around. Can't believe how far the tour pros hit it, these guys are good..! Pick for the week...Stenson.

  13. Hi Josh, I had the privilege of playing the Stadium course and to this day hole to hole and full 18 holes of golf, is my favorite course...can't wait to get back, and neat story while I was there I got a tour of the champions locker room and while we we're up there we saw JF and VS.

They can call it what they want but given it has it's own identity, great course, and the players love it, keep it the Players and not try and make it a 5th Major

I was lucky enough that my scramble team won an entry into the national tournament at The Stadium Course. We did not shoot anywhere near well enough to win anything. However the welcome gift bag felt like a prize in itself!

Having a fore caddie was a different experience for sure. No one in my foursome could hit the 17th either :/.

I've played it several times, although that was several years ago.  Birdied the 17th the first time I played it, but was over par on it every other time.  The course is fun to play once or twice, but truthfully it's so difficult that it's not a course I would want to play frequently. It's difficult from the tee, difficult into the greens, and putting those greens is a real challenge.  I remember being amazed at the slope on the 13th green the first time I played it.   TV just doesn't reveal the degree of slope and how difficult the greens are.  I've been to the tournament too, but I now enjoy watching it on TV more than attending.  It'll be really hot for spectators this year.

Had the opportunity to play the Stadium course a couple years back and it was fun.  I missed getting on the green to a front hole location by a foot and my ball went swimming!  (Of course we had to hit from where the pro's tee off on 17 just to see if we could do it)

I walked the whole course on Tuesday starting from the 18th green and back to the tee on each hole to get a different perspective.  I wanted to see the contours and breaks so when I am at home bar-b-q'ing steaks on Mother's Day (No I won't be getting to go on Sunday…) I will know what the Pro's are facing under all that pressure.

Wednesday got to see Kevin Na, Martin Flores, Steve Stricker, Henrik Stenson, Jordan Spieth, Graham DeLaet, Lee Westwood and a bunch of other Titleist players in their practice rounds and on the range.  It is quite different seeing them play in person versus watching from my living room.

Fun day if you ever get to go to TPC on Wednesday with Military appreciation, concert, picture & autographs and a chance to be up close and personal to the PGA Tour.  Taking a break today but going back Friday and Saturday.

Definitely one tournament you want to experience.  It's hard to describe the feel, the excitement and the energy that flows through this place during the week.

Was a.member of the Valley course there for 6 years.  Got to play the Stadium quite a bit.  It definitely is a bucket list course.  Last year, I saw a comment that they needed to lengthen the course because Tiger only hit 3 and 5,woods from the tee.  Played their tees the Friday after the Players last year.  Whoever suggested they lengthen the course doesn't know a thing about golf.

I see the stadium course as being an easy-ish course to be honest….Call it my 15 year old cockiness but seriously I went to the practice round on tuesday and watched quite a few players.  My initial thought when i got there was, "Wow I can actually hit it as far as most of these guys!" Which was true, a majority of these guys don't consistently break 300 yards, which I can do every once in a while.  But the second thought was that after surveying the course for a little bit, and I love fast greens I always roll it great on fast greens, the second thought was that I could for sure play this course in the low 70's.  Its not long, its not that tight, and while the greens aren't the biggest (they're a lot smaller in person) If you can have 120 yards and have a 54* wedge in your hand on a par 4, you're good to go.  I think people overrate TPC in terms of difficulty.  The Valley course is tougher from the tips I think, since its so tight.

I mean what do I know though, Im only a 15 year old hoping to be a pro someday.

It's good to be confident! Tournament golf is a different animal, especially in those conditions. First time I saw Augusta i was amazed at how easy that course is tee to green.  The greens are a whole other story. As a former club pro/successful mini-tour player, i'd say aim to play with guys that are better than you as much as possible. Trust me, I played with dozens of tour players, and people don't realize how good even the lower echelon of tour players are. Work hard, and make it fun!!!

The first time I played there I was a mini tour player around Orlando. It was 1994 and I was playing very well at the time. I went to the course a week before the Players and shot 70 from the tips in near tournament condition. I then got to see a Tour player start  with a 63 that I saw shot for shot!!!.......24 under par that left us speechless!!!....LOL
