Was back in Maryland visiting high school friends and we had a tee time Sunday at Blue Mash in Laytonsville. Par 3 hole 6, 143 yards I pull the gap wedge out of the bag. Thought I hit it slightly thin, but was tracking right to the flag. Took one bounce (pitched about a yard in front of the flag) and bounced right in the cup. I thought it went in but wasn’t sure, so ran the whole 143 to go check. Sure enough, right in the cup! Immediately went crazy, my friends ran all the way up and chest bumps/high fives/screaming ensured. The group in front of us on the tee box saw the commotion and came back to give congratulations. Word spread like wildfire and soon enough was getting congratulations from everyone on the course. To have my first ace in front of my friends I’ve been playing alongside for years and back in the area I grew up was super special. Hit with a Titleist Pro V1 #50, guess I have a new lucky number!
