I have a Red, White, Black 14 way Standbag and some areas of the red is fading, anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking of painting the red with a special paint that can be used on leather, embroidery, canvas, carbon fiber, etc.

All my previous bags have faded to some degree over time. Usually the black starts to grey before anything else. That's how i know when it's time to start looking at the newer models. I have never tried to touch them up. I am usually proud of the fade as it shows how many days I've had them out in the sun.

Hey Bruce ... my lightweight staff bag has a similar problem with the red portion fading over the rest of the bag. It seems to me that the red colour is problematic with fading as a result of extended or prolonged exposure to the sun and uv rays/red spectrum rays..

I wish I could remember my high school science as to why this specifically occurs - but alas its been too long! As for a "work around" I don't have too much red on my bag so I do "recolour" it from time to time ... its kind of like a golfers "does she or doesn't she" moment (for those old enough to remember the Clairol commercials!)

Mother nature is not kind to red in hot and humid conditions in the South. I have learned thru the years that red is not a color I purchase in cars, bags, apparel, etc, etc., if I am outside a lot.....a fact of life.....have heard that you can spray scotch guard on the bag and it helps.....I go with the basic black and white bags, which I love........

Red on a golf bag will fade and eventually turn pinkish due to being in the sunlight.

Let us know how the "painting" works out Bruce.

Out of warranty and this custom made paint won't fade or crack. I've had it on my Scotty Cameron bag and Cameron Driver, metal wood and hybrid head cover's for several years and they still look great.

the paint should dry out and may crack, then fall off. if in the sun often.

    best regards
