This is a few questions to those who currently play TSR’s for their driver and have been fitted to the new GT’s.

Do you play the same loft in the GT as in the TSR?

Where are you making gains with the new upgrade?

Are you launching the ball higher with more or less spin?

    Cheers, Dr. K

Hey there Dr K. The "Titleist Experience" the other day at American Dunes (TT Tribute FOH Wingman) has putters, wedges, and the new GT drivers. I hit a few times with the GT2 and I was using the same 9 degree loft as my TSR3. The two fitters did say that most people moving to the GT3 are going up one degree in loft due to the adjustable weight port moving to the front instead of the back like on the TSR3. Makes sense to me.

I was fit for the GT3 and did go to a 10° head from a 9° in my TSR3. Stuck with the same shaft, the Tensei 1k Black 75X. I was actually trying to increase spin a little bit so we went up in loft. Definitely an upgrade and it was most notable on misshits. Ball speed off my toe side miss was unbelievable.
  4. I guess a lot of the spin will be down to the shaft you are playing.. would be interesting side by side comparison with identical shaft

Q1) Do you play the same loft in the GT as in the TSR?
A1) Depends on the series (2,3,4). For my fit the 2 series (TSR2 vs. GT2) the loft stayed at 9* while the 3 series (TSR3 vs. GT3) went from 9* to 10*. (likely due to the change in CG & weight track placement)

Q2) Where are you making gains with the new upgrade?
A3) Gains in ball speed across the GT Line, saw roughly 2-3 mph increase from TSR.

Q3) Are you launching the ball higher with more or less spin?
A3) The GT3 allowed to really dial in the launch and spin window for my fit, helped to take advantage of the increased ball speeds with a 10 yard increase carry.

    Excellent!!!

  7. I lofted up in the TSR3 to 10 degrees, stuck with that in the GT3 head.

I stayed about the same. Had a TSR3 10 degree adjusted down to 9.25 and wound up the same in the GT3, but different shaft and spin came down to a nice range…club feels totally different…love it!
  9. For me the GT3 launches higher compared to TSR3. I went from TSR3 10 degree to GT3 9 degree, both in setting D2. Ventus TR blue 6x 45,5". I see higher launch and lower spin in GT3. It seems to come down to how you deliver the club and maybe the swing changes in GT3 when more loft is visible and the lines on the clubface is more obvious. I tested GT2 9 degree in settin A2 (same ventus shaft) and it launches higher with higher spin than GT3, maybe 300-500rpm higher according to trackman (outdoor, premium rangeballs).

I have played all combos both on course och on range. GT3 and TSR3 are both longer for me than GT2. Spinn is the factor that kills distance for me in GT2.

That is pretty interesting. Most fitters are seeing lower launch in the GT3 and moving most people up a degree. The reason probably is that the weights on the TSR3 are in the rear and the GT3 are up closer to the face.

I was TSR2 at 10 degree and went to GT3 at 11 degrees. Ball speed up, ball flight up.
