  1. Is Titleist gonna be offering Auto Flex shafts now or in the near future?

Just a personal opinion, as Titleist rarely comments directly. Titleist has the highest percentage of clubs sold via a fitting. The auto flex shaft seems more like an option for off the rack retail sales. With all the no up-charge options available to fit you with a shaft optimized to you, my guess is there won’t be a focus on rack sales.

After doing a little research, would like to add to Don's comments. My research found and may justify why Titleist fitters do not offer their shaft.

QUOTE: The driver shaft itself is $790, while iron shafts are $210 each. What’s more, fairway wood shafts are currently priced at $625, while hybrid shafts start at the same price. One of the biggest drawbacks to AutoFlex golf shafts is that they’re expensive.

The fact that very few fitters use AutoFlex shafts means that "you have to order them directly from the manufacturer", which partly explains the high cost. Still, they’re one of the most sought-after golf shafts for a reason, and they undoubtedly help to increase your distance off the tee. Autoflex SF505X Black/Pink Shaft (No Tip or Grip Installed)

But equally, if you’re of the opinion that $790 for a club shaft is far too much to pay, then you’re certainly not alone. Many forums are filled with discussions surrounding the expense of AutoFlex golf clubs, so they’re certainly not for everyone (designed for a slower golf swing and promote a draw). But if you can justify the expense and want to level up your shafts from a performance and aesthetic viewpoint, these high-quality shafts are well worth thinking about.

The best place to buy AutoFlex golf shafts is directly from the manufacturer’s website which ensures authenticity. You can choose your shaft length as well as your color (black/pink or rainbow), and you can expect your delivery within 5-7 days.

However, you should be mindful that you are required to pay $85 for FedEx Priority delivery, which adds to the significant price tag even further.

One could try to order one of these expensive shafts thru a fitter, but must consider that the fitter would most likely add an additional charge making it even more expensive. They are not in the business of selling shafts at cost. Never say never, but in my opinion, do not see this being in the Titleist line.

Had no clue of the price. Wow. My coach can spend almost a whole day just for the price of the shaft. I can live with mid spin - high launch shaft

Well, low and behold. The custom options catalog has been updated for the TSR lineup. The Autoflex shafts are now an option. Listed as exotic, so pricing will be through a dealer and paid in full before obtained.

Just guessing, the price may exceed a grand. But cheaper than buying a driver and ordering a shaft separately.

    Hey Don,
Titleist fitter here in Dallas. We do have Autoflex shafts in our kits but not every Titleist fitter has them for fitting sessions. They are expensive and just because they are dead t mean they fit everyone or their swing. I would buy without trying if your thinking about it.
