  1. Hi guys- I am considering upgrading my old t-mb 3 iron to a u500 3 iron as I can get a good deal on a steel shafted u500. Was hoping with the upgrade to gain some length and forgiveness with a u500 - has anyone compared?

If no gains to be had may look towards a t200 with graphite

    Thanks all in advance

I put a U500 4 iron in the bag, bent 2* strong by Titleist, then added a Graphite Design Tour AD-UT 85S shaft. Now I find it to be one of the most dependable clubs in my bag. I have as much, or more, confidence with it in my hands as I do with any of my mid-long T200 irons. And I do have a lot of confidence in all of them, too. From tee or turf, the U500 is a definite keeper. I get so much satisfaction hitting it.

T-MB and U500 are more forgiving than the T200. If you want more distance and forgiveness, just get one with a graphite shaft. That's why they exist. There's a reason nobody plays a steel-shafted driver or fairway these days.
