I was just looking at my calendar and started to panic, omg we probably only have 10 weeks left in Calgary. How am I going to get more rounds in?

Crazy - isn't it? Getting rained out today but we are grabbing every opportunity we can - while we can! Then it is back to indoor golf for me.

Half the houses in our community are empty, just waiting for the influx of Canadian golfers who don't want to store their clubs for six months. :)

Yep we only have another 10.5 weeks left. Our course has a hard close date third Wednesday in October

You are so right ! Here in Barrie, my course opens in May and closes at the end of October. With only a six month season we are already past the half way mark :( I must admit that when I hear about global warming my first thought goes to wishing for at least one more month of golf so that "putting season" could be at least a bit longer than "pouting season" !!!

Very similar to those in upstate NY. By Halloween things are packed up and courses shut down.

No problem playing for 10 more weeks when your retired
  11. Move. We will be playing in Southern Ontario well into November. Maybe later.

Hah ---- You know Bob - I often thought it was just a little too out there for someone to move out of town and select their location because of golf until one of my friends did just that. They sold their house north of Barrie because it was way too big, and ended up moving to St. Thomas. I asked him if he had family there or something and the answer was that they get at least three more weeks of golf in the spring and three more weeks of golf in the fall ! So you comment suggesting people should move is not that far out of line :) (at least for some)....
  13. Pine Knot will stay open as long as there is no snow. The determining factor is wind. I will play any time in single digit weather as long as there is little or no wind. They roll their greens and they cut 2 or 3 holes and rotate them in case the ground gets frozen. Much better than playing indoors in a simulator.

Can't blame your friends Darius... golf is important ya know! The southern most part of Ontario has a very long golf season.... at most there is only 4 months here without golf. Also very easy to catch a flight from the D to destinations in the U.S. for a long weekend get away during the middle part of the winter.
