I recently bought a set of T100's at a really good deal but I didn't get fitted for them. Does anyone know what the optimal spin and launch angles are for these are they are weaker than modern day irons. I'm getting good distance out of them but I find they are going really high, not what I'm used to seeing with the 716 AP2.

ex PW swinging at +/- 84 MPH I'm launching it at 30.7 degrees, 7800 rpm backspin and getting around 130-135 yards.

I was fitted and switched from 716 ap2s to the t100s and I can say that they fly high, but straight and cover the distance.
The T100s are awesome, and I am thrilled.

I am more accurate and more consistent in the carry yardages and am playing them them at standard out of the box lofts and lies.

My 716 ap2s were one degree weak and these fly better (to my eye at least) I'm getting the height, but the lofts on my t100s help with both distance and flight.

I believe they are lower lofted to contribute to the centre of gravity which is a launch improvement in these t100s.

Hope that helps, but before you do anything I suggest you play outside and see how they perform. I hope you are pleasantly surprised!

Oh i'm definitely happy with these. I have the T100 not the S. I'm still hitting them far and according to the launch monitor they stop very fast. I'm using a Flightscope X2 Elite. But yeah I agree they flight high and straight. I am just curious about the launch angles and spin incase I am robbing myself of some distance.

I also just got a set of T100 irons... literally just this week. I hit them on the range for the first time yesterday and I also thought they launched high BUT I was hitting off a fluffy turf mat and into a rather strong wind. First time I've been outdoors to hit balls since December so it wasn't really a fair evaluation considering that and the conditions.
I must say I really like the look of the T100; very clean top line and tremendously solid feel. Confidence inspiring! I am also coming from a set of 716 AP2's so I am also interested in the performance comparison. Next time out I will take a 716 AP2 PW to make some comparisons.... ideally I'll get the new irons on the course soon but I think it will be a couple of weeks before that happens.

The Trackman website lists PGA Tour averages for each club; your club head speed with a PW matches up so you could make some comparisons.

There is also Flightscope's Trajectory Optimizer. It will give you an idea of what differences in launch and spin will do to distance.

Bottom line is: I doubt you are losing any distance, 135 on a good strike with a PW is 1 yard less than PGA Tour Average!
