Okay - eve I admit that was a bit corny :! However - Daniel Berger pulled off a great win at Pebble Beach this weekend. After making a double on the 18th on Saturday he came back and hit driver/3 wood/ one putt for an eagle on 18 on Sunday to win by two. I watched the shot into the green from 253 yds and was amazed at how the ball landed so softly on the green to set him up for the win. I can only hope that my ProV1 lands just as softly once we can get back out on the links again. Okay - I accept that it certainly will not be from 253 yards, but my new fairway wood was fit to help me fly it in and land softly. Just knock off 30 yards :) Jordan looks like he is on the road to recovery. Leader after 54 holes on Saturday two weeks in a row shows he is almost back to his winning form. It is tough to win out there and he did shoot 2 under today so he is close !

It was a big win for him. For some reason I didn't find this tournament that pleasurable to watch. I still watched it as I'm a golf nut.

I can relate to the guy that was frustrated with the 4 putt.

Well, you don't pee pee on the outside walls of the Sistine Chapel and you don't bang your clubs into the ground at Pebble. Sacred ground!

I agree. I even get pissed at people who spit on/off or around the green. I find it disgusting and inappropriate.

Banging your club into the green is a form of disrespect to the greenskeeper in my opinion. It's very difficult to keep greens in that condition.
  5. What is with people spitting on the ground in public anyway? Is that a smoker thing? I've never understood the need.
  6. I did not miss the amateurs/celebrities at all.

I agree with Dale. No sense getting upset with the green.

I kind of agree with Dale.... Never take it out on the green or the sand or the golf course... However - Pebble Beach is certainly a very very special place, but the "scared ground" is in the background of Dale's picture :)

I'm sure the superintendent and his staff appreciated the club banging into the green. They had to go out there and see if any real damage was done.

Just my opinion, if damage was done, they should have sent the player a bill for incurred damage and repair!

It was ridiculous and he should be fined. The PGA should also publicize the punishment. TV sets the stage for many (many) junior attitudes on course. This kind of behavior is neither acceptable nor something the PGA should tolerate IMHO.
