Just read that the Canadian Open will be cancelled for 2020. Here's the link to the MSN article posted today.....

  2. Shame, was looking forward to checking out St George's for the first time. It's on the bucket list of courses to play for me!

    Hey Ray!
I played this course about 4 years back and it is one looooong and tough "expletive" (i'll let you fill in the blank, lol!).

Never played it before, very Private indeed so you will need an invitation or play in a Tournament like I did.

Very intimidating (for me, at first), but after going to their range and hitting a few - (careful here because if you want to hit a wood, you need to get driven to the opposite end of the range where you will find a teeing area for your Driver and Fairway Woods), I wasn't hitting very well so decided to play the course's holes backwards. Yes backwards, that was the only way to at least shoot par - regulation was the same but only backwards as it consisted of thinking of 2 putts on the green (maybe one) first + then the approach shot + lastly the Tee shot, so always was trying to play to a strength for the second or approach shot. Ended up shooting 70 on a course I'd never seen before and luckily won the Tournament and that was only thanks to a lot of Titleist high-bred second shots.

Definitely should be on everyone's bucket list, just a beautiful place.

Quite sad about this. While I am not a member I have been fortunate to have played St. G on numerous occasions and I'll miss being there during the hustle and bustle as well as seeing it on TV.
