How are you keeping your game sharp during this period of social distancing ? Nothing golf related is open in our area right now and my garage is not tall enough to set up any kind of driving net. So - I am diligently working on my putting in the basement. Trying to make 4 putts in a row from 3 ft, then 5 ft, then 7 ft. It takes time, but that is something I have lots of these days. As the snow melts I can rake a portion of the lawn, but that is only bit by bit. What is everyone else doing ? Can you hit balls in the back yard ? Do you have something to measure your swing ? Playing with a Skytrack or something like that ? Re-gripping your clubs? It could be a while before we can get out. In the mean time - stay strong and safe !

  2. I have a small putting mat and Cameron putting disk set up in the basement, but have been looking at something more substantial like the PuttOUT or Wellputt mats that have been all over social media these past two weeks. Seems the PuttOUT mats are sold out on their eStore at Amazon.ca, so will likely pick up the Wellputt. What are you using Darius?

As the weather starts to improve here in Southern Ontario, I've also been looking at outdoor nets and mats for the backyard. I've been told that you get what you pay for in these categories and, as much as I'm looking for something that will last, I'm not sure that I'm ready to step up and spend the $1,500 - $2,000 right now. Would love to see what others are using and hear if you all have any recommendations.

Best wishes and good health to you and your families, Team Titleist!

Ryan - I also wanted something substantial and that had a real feel to it for my putting. It is not inexpensive, but I went to Toronto somewhere near the Pearson Airport and visited the Rymar sales office. There I picked up a 4 foot by 12 foot piece of artificial grass that is designed to act like a putting green. It is certainly high quality. They do full installations for sports facilities and will do artificial lawns and stuff. I was fortunate that when I went there they simply rolled out 4 feet of a 12 foot wide roll and cut it off for me. Don't ask how much I paid as I really cannot remember. I have had it for at least 4 years now :)
  4. Thanks for the tip Darius. I'll reach out and see what their situation is like with Covid-19. If possible, may grab some turf from them instead of purchasing a mat online. With the current exchange rate, plus duty, all options out of the US are a little pricey right now.

Look for a company that sells wholesale netting to arenas, golf courses and sports facilities. I got a 10' high x 20' for about $250. It is the same netting they use for driving ranges. It is corded all around so I can hang it from hooks in my garage or take it outside and hook it up on a cable.

Working on cleaning out all my golf 'stuff' that has accumulated over the years. I putt around the basement and am anxiously waiting to get outside as there is still snow on the ground here. I gave up 1/2 of my garage to a neighbor that was moving so my net has been down. Rumors floating around here in Calgary is that the courses will not be opening. Hopefully we can salvage at least half of a season when this pandemic passes.\

    Stay healthy everyone!

I had the putting green installed about 8 years ago. Just added the net over the weekend.

I've been working on trying to get my grass back and weed free. I'm also putting together my own hitting space in the backyard.
  9. So I went a bit crazy over the weekend and ordered a PuttOUT Pressure Putt Trainer, Putting Mat, and Putting Mirror Trainer, plus a GoSports 10' x 7' Net and Country Club Elite Mat. PuttOUT stuff arrived from Amazon this week, the net and mat aren't supposed to get here until April 21st. Not sure I can wait that long!

    Lethbridge,

I have a mat downstairs in the basement. Have been chipping in the basement each day. Chipping is the worst part of my game.

V1 sports app, 8x8 amazon basics mat, turf matt, mini launch monitor and good to go!
I'm lucky my house backs on to the river, the same one that runs by our course.
So working on lag, impact, club head speed and release.
Hope its going somewhat straight lol.
    Be safe and healthy team!

nothing wrong with isolating when you have that setup and view.
  13. My PuttOUT putting mat, mirror and Pressure Putt Trainer have all now arrived. The GoSports net arrived last week, just waiting on the Country Club Elite hitting mat now. The mat has cleared customs...hopefully will arrive this week, so I can get some practice in on the weekend.

I got myself a putting challenge machine. Its a neat putting aid that changes contours after each putt.

Got this several years back, it is the ultimate and crazy practice putting aid. Everyone should have one but not cheap and very well made unit. So cool the way it sets up for each hole differently and different skill levels. Enjoy!

FJL - That is awesome ! I looked it up and you are correct - quite costly, but I can see it would be a lot more fun than putting on a regular mat and as such one would spend more time practicing :)
Very Cool - Thanks for sharing !!!!!

    Bragg Creek,

I just got a DELTA Putt in an Instagram giveaway! It's the simplest training aid idea you've ever seen but man...talk about instant feedback! I'm going to drain everything this year lol!
