Was just wondering if anyone has taken lessons at GolfTech, and what your experiences have been. Did they just offer tweaks to your existing swing , or did they want to start completely from scratch and revamp everything. Thanks

I personally have not been to GolfTec but have a friend who tried it out. He said his teacher was good, but he only went to work on his driver as he was struggling to keep his drives in the fairway. As such they really re-worked his swing which needed much more than just tweaks. given that GolfTec is located in many different locations they obviously have a significant number of teachers/coaches. That means you would have to sit down with the teacher in your particular location and make a judgement call after having a conversation. After all, as the student, you need to feel comfortable with the idividual you are working with. We all have our personality quirks which is a good thing but it also means some of us may like someone who is more scientific and sticks to basics while some of us may want to learn how to "feel" the shot. If the teacher you get does not fit with your personality you will not be able to learn all they have to offer. I don't know if they charge for a pre-lesson consultation, but I would hope they would be willing to sit down with you free of charge to give you a chance to feel them out. Hope that helps...

Agree with Darius - the interaction with the instructor is crucial. I would also add that GT is an iterative process. By that I mean that they will drive you towards an end state in a series of small adjustments - breaking the golf swing down into components. Part of the initial interview proves will determine start and end states or goals. These will be different depending on your particulars.

I personally enjoyed and benefitted from the process but it takes time IMO. And I would mention that I do not think it is something I could do "in-season". As my coach said, there is a big (mostly mental) difference between a "golf swing" and a "golf shot". If you can get the mechanics down through repetition and practice at GT, the "Golf-Shot" becomes much more natural.

Overall, I recommend the GT process but only in the "off-season". My two cents.
